Dr. Michael Laughlin, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, Department Chair of Criminal Justice and Social Work
Michael graduated from Greenville College with a BA in religion and philosophy. He then served in elementary and secondary education for several years before returning to earn his MA in philosophy at the University of Missouri in St. Louis and then his Missouri Peace Officer Certification at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
While serving as a police officer, Michael held positions as a detective, as head of the Crime Prevention Unit, as an officer-in-charge on second shift, and as a patrol officer. While serving in law enforcement, he also earned his MPA and PhD in public affairs from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Michael is married to Kasey. They have two sons, Evan and Alex.
